In the 1970s, the French actress Jean Seberg gave money to the Black Panther Party in the United States. As a result, the FBI was ordered to cause ‘her embarrassment and serve to cheapen her image with the public’.
Seberg committed suicide because of the stress and the pain caused by the Government’s campaign to destroy her reputation.
Plus ca change. (Which is foreign for ‘the bastards are still at it’.)
